Songs from Friday Nov 25th 2011
This week we looked at Mark 13 where Jesus talks about the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem and the signs of the ends of the age. There's a lot about this passage that we don't understand, but there are a few definite things that we can be certain of from this passage: God is sovereignly in control of history, the end is coming, and we don't know when it is. The hope that we have in Christ is that even in the middle of difficult times (earthquakes, famine, tsunami's, personal tragedy!) we know that it's not caught Him by surprise, but rather somehow in all of He is working His purposes for our good and His glory.
The songs we sang to help us meditate on these truths are:
Crown Him With Many Crowns - trad. hymn from 1800's
And Can It Be - trad. hymn from 1700's
Bible Reading from Psalm 46
God Is Our Refuge - Glen Jones (as yet unrecorded)
We Belong To The Day - Michael Morrow (Emu Music)
Communion: Behold The Lamb - Keith and Kristyn Getty
You Are Our Hope - Doug Plank (Sovereign Grace Music)
Never Cease To Praise - Jeff Bourque
